Steve Brewer

Steve Brewer is the author of 16 books, as well as a humor writer whose columns have appeared in newspapers across the United States and Canada.

Brewer grew up in Arkansas, but called New Mexico home for nearly two decades before moving to Redding, California, in 2003. He spent 22 years in the daily news business, but has since written his weekly column, The Home Front, from home, in his pajamas.

Brewer spent two years on the national board of directors of Mystery Writers of America, and twice served as an Edgar Awards judge. He also belongs to International Thriller Writers and Northern California Writers Forum. A regular speaker at mystery conventions, he has taught at the University of New Mexico, the Midwest Writers Workshop and the Tony Hillerman Writers Conference. In 2008, he was appointed by the Redding City Council to the Shasta Public Library Citizens Advisory Committee.
